The food service program serves three meals per day to the students, as well as meal opportunities outside of regular school hours and during the summer months. The food service program offers several “community involvement” programs throughout the year, including: Patriot Day Lunch (on Sept. 11), National Law Enforcement Day, Bluejay Greeters Breakfast Celebration, Homecoming Football Parade, and a Pumpkin Carnival. The food service team is also working with the school leadership on making the process of distributing the food more efficient. Charleston Schools has a CACFP rate of $3.75 per meal, with the federal reimbursement rate being $4.90.
