Wheels turn slowly for bike lane projects

Two bike lane improvement projects already years in the making likely won’t start construction for another couple of years.
Church Street west of Dodge Avenue is scheduled to get a protected two-way bike lane.
A multimodal corridor project on Chicago Avenue calls for a protected two-way bike lane from Davis Street to the southern city limits at Howard Street.
The city is currently collecting feedback as it looks to revise its bike plan, which was last updated in 2014.
The new plan will include a network map with all bikes routes in Evanston, along with a new map with secondary bike routes that will include connecting streets between the main bike routes.
