Barbara Rose “Nicki” Artis, affectionately known as Meemaw, age 92, of Ironton, passed away Jan. 26, 2026. She was born Oct. 30, 1933 to the late Wallace Thomas Smith and Mary Catherine Miller. In July 1956, she married the love of her life, the late Jerry “Peepaw” Artis. She is survived by one son, Tom (Shari) Artis; one grandson, Drew (Alison) Artis; and one great grandson, Trey Artis, who was the light of her life. Meemaw would cook him anything he wanted, and Peepaw would get oin the floor and play anything Trey wanted.
