Southfield firefighters were called at about 8:14 p.m. Tuesday to a home in the 22000 block of Leewright Avenue, near Nine Mile and Telegraph roads, Fire Chief Joey Thorington said. Firefighters arrived at the home minutes after dispatchers received a 911 call about the fire, according to the chief. He said two Southfield firefighters also suffered two minor injuries while they extinguished the blaze, but they were able to continue working. “It was harsh conditions for firefighting.”He mentioned Southfield firefighters had also been called to another home for a fire on Tuesday morning.
