(File photo courtesy of the school district)A La Costa Canyon High School teacher has been jailed for allegedly possessing sexual abuse material involving children, officials said Wednesday. The arrest of Zyburt, a mathematics instructor at the Carlsbad secondary school, stemmed from a multi-agency investigation, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office. Subsequent searches of electronic devices used by the suspect “further confirmed his possession and attempted possession” of the illicit materials, according to the attorney general. “When someone who is entrusted with the care of our youth is revealed to be harboring child sexual abuse material, it is not only a crime, but also a betrayal of trust,” Bonta said.
