Published January 28, 2026April 22, 1940 to January 02, 2026 –Born in Lodi, California, to Warren and Hilda Nicholas, Nick became the first in his family to attend college, with a Business degree from San Jose State. Careers in Sales and Marketing across the world brought him to Sheila Macrae in London, and they married in 1981. They purchased a Napa Valley restaurant where Nick decided on a vineyard of his own. Nicholas Estate was founded in 2001, producing wines under the Anam Cara Cellars label for 20 vintages. Nick is remembered for his pride in his family, tenacity and never taking the easy route.
