Two Lake Cowichan hockey teams are facing off for a good cause this weekend. The senior AA Lake Cowichan Appollos and the VIJHL’s Lake Cowichan Kraken will face off in the second annual Community Cup on Jan. 24 at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena. The exhibition game is designed to bring the community together while raising funds for local youth nutrition programs. Organizers said proceeds from the event will help provide food support for children and families in the Lake Cowichan area. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Organizers encouraged local hockey fans to attend and support both teams and the cause.
