The Municipality of West Nipissing will be receiving up to $18.1 million from the province to expand water infrastructure and provide an alternative source of drinking water for homes in Verner. The municipality says the entire project is estimated at around $24 million, with the provincial contribution covering about three quarters of eligible costs. Officials say the project includes the construction of a new water main from Cache Bay to Verner, and converting Verner’s existing treatment plant into a pumping station.
