The Kemptville District Hospital Foundation says its fundraising campaign for a new x-ray machine has surpassed its initial goal. Foundation officials say Gavin Murphy, an Ottawa lawyer and philanthropist, was the catalyst for the campaign after he offered to match every donation, up to $230,000, to purchase a new x-ray machine for the hospital. The hospital says the old x-ray machine, which was in operation for nearly 16 years, stopped working right after the campaign launched in October. Officials say the new x-ray machine is a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging tool that will improve patient outcomes and timely access to quality care. The KDH Foundation is now fundraising for a new mammography machine
