It was an early start to the day for members of the Williams Lake Fire Department. At approximately 5:10 this morning (January 19) they responded to a reported vehicle fire at 1322 Dog Creek Road within a mobile home park. The fire is not considered suspicious and the likely cause has been attributed to a vehicle block heater.”Sixteen firefighters responded with three large apparatus, two duty trucks, and crews remained on scene for roughly one hour. With the colder temperatures we are experiencing, the Williams Lake Fire Department reminds residents to inspect all cords, plugs, and fuel lines when using external heaters of any kind. The Department asks to ensure heaters are placed in well-ventilated areas, and keep vehicles or other heated items a safe distance from homes and structures.
