North Cariboo residents can hopefully breathe a little easier. The Ministry of Environment and Parks, in collaboration with Northern Health, has ended the Air Quality warning for the Quesnel area. It was issued yesterday when fine particulate matter in the area exceeded the provinical objective of 25 micrograms per cubic metres overa 24 hour period. It was as high as almost 50 on Sunday night. Exposure to fine particulate matter is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly, those who are pregnant, and individuals with chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, heart disease, and diabetes.
