BC Highway Patrol and Conservation rescued a unique road user on Monday, January 19. 100 Mile House RCMP says that the Highway Patrol was flagged down on Highway 97 near Ainsworth Road while conducting enforcement, to find an eagle had been struck by a vehicle and was in distress in the middle of the highway. BC Conservation was called to assist, and the eagle was captured safely. The Conservation Service says the eagle has been transported to the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society in Delta for further treatment.
