City police are asking you to remove social media posts, images or commentary related to a Crime Stoppers report that was briefly up on My Timmins Now Dot Com on Wednesday. It referred to an apparent case of attempted abduction of a baby in a shopping cart at Walmart. The couple whose photos were included with the report went to police on their own accord and provided an explanation. The investigation is closed and no charges have been laid. Not removing the social media material, according to the Timmins Police Service, could cause unnecessary harm and distress to the people involved, particularly considering no criminal offence occurred.
