We have an update from the city on the connecting link work ongoing through South Porcupine. Engineering manager Scott Collin says the water main connection at the east end of the job site is completed. “Just kind of in the situation of waiting for somewhat better temperatures that aren’t in the minus 20s so we can do some temporary asphalt and get that road fully opened until spring,” Collin notes. He adds that sometime next month, a subcontractor will install new traffic lights at the entrances to Northern College and the Porcupine Mall. The most frequent online comment about the connecting link project is about the median outside Northern College.
