Not a bad deal: A $26-million water tower in the east end, and City Hall is only on the hook for $2-million. In Porcupine today, Timmins MPP George Pirie announced that the province is contributing $23.644,439. Mayor Michelle Boileau noted that the Tisdale Water Tower will hold ten-million litres, lower energy use, improve system reliability and strengthen water distribution and fire protection. Pirie says there have been concerns about water system reliability in the east end, and noted they were there when the Northern College emergency services complex was built. But you can’t grow without water infrastructure.”Pirie notes that in the past year, Queen’s Park has also given $9-million towards housing infrastructure in Timmins.
