Three years after the last time they were in Timmins, the Canadian U18 curling championships are being hosted by the McIntyre Curling Club, February 8th to 14th. Chairman Steve Meunier says four Northern Ontario rinks will participate against teams from all the provinces and territories, for a total of 42 teams. Both the curling rink and arena will be used and spectators are welcome. Meunier says it begins on Sunday, February 8th with an opening ceremony featuring the Timmins Police Pipes and Drums parading the teams into the McIntyre Arena. “They get out in that arena and they play out there and they just want to get back and do that again.
