Friends and family are rallying to support a local family impacted by cancer.
Chris Sluman was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive and fast-moving form of blood cancer, on Jan. 4.
Chris, his wife Hailey Bertrand-Sluman, and their daughter Briar have strong ties to Powassan, North Bay, and Huntsville.
Hailey is a veterinarian at Parkside Animal Hospital while Chris is a farrier serving local horse owners, farms, and the broader animal community.
Stand with Sluman is a fundraising event being held Feb. 21 at Gateway City Brewery to help cover medical costs.
