Construction in the Municipality of Highlands East decreased last year, compared to 2024. That’s according to a report from the building department, which states that 142 permits were issued in 2025, including 25 for dwellings. A slight decrease from 2024, when 153 permits were issues, 35 of which were for dwellings. Total construction value also dropped year-over-year, from $35.2 million dollars in 2024, to $25.6 million dollars last year.
