The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police informed students and staff at École St. Joseph in Blind River that the school was closed yesterday after a sudden death on the property.
Constable Beverley Gauthier says yesterday morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., the OPP, Algoma Paramedic Services and the OPP’s Forensic Identification Services Unit responded to a report of a death.
She says a 41-year-old from Blind River was located deceased at that location, and the investigation is continuing.
Gauthier adds foul play is not suspected and there was no threat to public safety.
The school reopens today.
