Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a cold warning Tuesday, and Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) are warning residents of the risks. The weather agency said that wind chills between minus 25 and minus 30 degrees are expected during the day in Stratford, St. Marys, Listowel and other parts of Perth County. Public heath said the temperatures can not only pose risk to cold-related injuries like frostbite, frostnip, and hypothermia, but also worsen health conditions. Health risks are highest for homeless people, older adults, babies and children. You’re advised to check the weather before you go out, check on your loved ones and neighbours, wear a lot of layers, be aware of cold injuries, stay warm and dry, and to drive safely.
