South‑west England continues to face severe disruption as Storm Chandra passes, with hundreds of flood warnings in place and residents urged to stay alert amid ongoing danger to life and property.
Although the worst of the winds have eased, rivers remain dangerously high and danger to life flood warnings remain in place, particularly across south‑west England.
Severe flood warnings — the highest level used by the Environment Agency — are still active in parts of Dorset and Devon, where residents were told to evacuate as floodwaters rose near the River Stour.
