Nigeria and the Republic of Cuba have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation on regional and global issues. The commitment was made when the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Nigeria, Ambassador Miriam Morales Palmero, at the Ministry’s headquarters. The Permanent Secretary assured the Cuban delegation of Nigeria’s continued solidarity and willingness to engage constructively within multilateral frameworks to address shared global challenges. She briefed the Permanent Secretary on recent developments in Latin America and their broader regional implications, calling for greater international understanding and cooperation. During the meeting, Ambassador Morales Palmero informed the Permanent Secretary of plans for a proposed visit to Nigeria by the Vice President of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, after the African Union Summit.
