Taraba State Governor, Mrs. Agyin Kefas, on Wednesday met with 17-year-old Miss Iwasen Terhemba, who was allegedly mutilated by Ramatu Abbas in Donga Local Government Area of the state on January 21, 2026.
Miss Terhemba was reportedly attacked following allegations that she rebuffed advances from the suspect’s husband.
Mrs. Kefas directed the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hon.
It was gathered that the ministry has since been coordinating medical treatment, psychological care, and other social support services for Miss Terhemba.
Mrs. Kefas reaffirmed the commitment of the Taraba State Government to protecting the vulnerable, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring that compassion and accountability remain at the heart of governance and community life across the state.
