The original version of this post was an old press release that the Fortuna Police sent out accidentally, and which we did not notice was old. ###Press release from the Fortuna Police Department:On January 23, 2026 at approximately 12:55 AM Fortuna Police Department Officer conducted a vehicle investigation on two suspicious vehicles occupied by adult male subjects in the 700 block of S. Fortuna Blvd. As a result of the investigation Maxwell Elliot (age 30) of Fortuna was found to be in possession of over 20 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and a loaded 9mm caliber handgun on his person.
