North Yorkshire Police arrested the trio on the A1, close to Junction 47, at approximately 4pm on Wednesday (January 28). It came after two men were reported stealing fragrances from Boots in Market Square West in Ripon at 3.40pm. A 15-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been arrested and being transported to custody, police said. A force spokesperson said: “This quick response shows our commitment to tackling retail crime, disrupting offenders and protecting local businesses. “Retail crime remains a key priority for North Yorkshire Police, and we will do all we can to ensure those who cause harm to the retail sector are identified, stopped and held fully accountable for their actions.”
