Speaking after the Supreme court’s 4–1 majority ruling, Mr. Nimako said the Supreme Court had spoken “emphatically” on the matter and made it clear that the Tamale High Court acted without jurisdiction. “I think that the Supreme Court has spoken emphatically that the decision by the Tamale High Court was made without jurisdiction, and so the court has ruled it out. Honourable Nyindam still remains the MP for the people of Kpandai, and his position has been maintained,” Mr. Nimako stated. The Supreme Court on Wednesday, set aside the High Court judgment that nullified the election of Matthew Nyindam as Member of Parliament for Kpandai and ordered a rerun. Commenting on suggestions that the NDC could apply for a review of the decision, Mr. Nimako dismissed the move as futile, arguing that the numerical composition of the ruling made any such attempt meaningless.
