Mr Agyei said the scheme started with seed funding of GH¢27 million and has grown through the rollover of principal and interest. He explained that the scheme was designed to assist low-income tenants who face difficulty paying rent, particularly in urban areas where accommodation costs continue to rise. He said the increase in beneficiary numbers reflected wider access to the support provided under the scheme. Mr Agyei said the government was holding discussions with other financial institutions to extend the scheme to additional regions.
