The city of Sterling Heights has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for dozens of homes on Denoter Drive only following a water main break that caused a temporary loss of water pressure on the street. The advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution as this water main break meets the threshold requiring a boil water advisory under state guidelines, city officials said in a news release. Dozens of water main breaks have been reported in Detroit and surrounding communities in recent days. When the water boil advisory is lifted, the city will notify residents via the city website at sterlingheights.gov , social media, SHTV and emergency text/email alerts.
