Work has started on the new Chung Wah Community Centre in Bentley. The facility will also house the Chung Wah Community Care Centre, providing aged care services to the elderly from Chinese and Southeast Asian communities. It is expected to enable the Chung Wah Association to expand its current initiatives and meet the future needs of culturally and linguistically diverse communities. The Chung Wah Association was established in 1909 and is the largest and oldest not-for-profit CaLD association in WA. Its current services include Chung Wah Community Care, cultural and interest groups, and Chinese language classes, which are held at six school campuses, including Geraldton.
