LINCOLN SQUARE — The recent extreme cold has slowed progress of some construction at the Western Brown Line station, according to Ald. Construction on the easternmost lane of Western Avenue is done, but work on nearby sidewalks and the bus turnaround that are part of the Western Brown Line station have been delayed due to the extreme cold over the weekend, Josh Mark, Martin’s chief of staff, said in an email. Crews working on the new public plaza just next to the Western Brown line stop previously removed their equipment with a plan to return in the spring when the weather is less of an issue.
