(Evansville, IN) – A former Greensburg Police Officer was wounded over the weekend in Evansville while trying to arrest a suspect following a stolen vehicle chase. Sam Taylor is a probationary officer with the Evansville Police Department and was involved in the chase early Sunday along with his field training officer. After police pulled the vehicle over, one of the suspects pulled firearm and shot at officers. Chief Smith describes Taylor’s injuries as “very serious.”Officer Taylor was with the Greensburg Police Department from 2023 until last year. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Sam, Josh, and the entire Taylor family,” reads a statement from the Greensburg Police Department.
