VIJAYAWADA: Medical and Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav underlined that the state government has filled 90 per cent of the doctor vacancies in tribal areas. The minister informed the AP Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that the coalition government has given top priority to filling the vacancies of doctors in the tribal belt. Satya Kumar Yadav announced that steps are being taken to upgrade hospitals at Kanigiri, Kovvur and Buchireddypalem. Satya Kumar Yadav said the state government is releasing incentives promptly, unlike in the past. The minister clarified that under the National Health Mission guidelines, CHOs work on a contractual basis and their services cannot be regularised.
