The two performed Burning Down the House, a single he released with his band Talking Heads in 1983. Talking Heads was one of the bands that took shape in the era of New York’s East Village club CBGB. Talking Heads is, along with The Smiths, one of the era’s only major bands that never returned to the stage after its breakup. I think that I make this music as an act of resistance, as a counterweight to what I read in the press.
