Chew Magna FC players walked off the pitch in protest yesterday afternoon (Saturday, September 27) during a match.
Fixtures listed the match as a Chew Magna home game at their Monty Tucker Clubhouse near Clutton.
A statement shared by the team's official account on social media confirmed that the game has been "abandoned at half time following a homophobic slur" towards a Chew Magna player.
Its statement accused one person in particular and alleged this was not the first time, adding: "The Chew Magna team were unanimous in their decision to leave the field of play.
