Comedian Abdul Waris Umaru, popularly known as Comedian Waris, believes comedy has not been fully embraced within the Muslim community in Ghana. He explained that the reason is well known among members of the community, which makes it quite challenging to create jokes related to Islam. However, he stated that he is prepared to receive criticism, as he plans to begin creating comic content inspired by the Muslim community. This response came after he was asked during an interview on a show whether he would ever venture into Islamic comedy. Comedian Waris has assured that he will dedicate time to teaching and training young Muslims who are interested in content creation, helping them turn it into a viable source of income.
