Chesterton Town Council formally creates Trackside Arts and Cultural District

The Chesterton Branding and Leadership Corporation (CBLC) announced the designation of the new Chesterton Trackside Arts & Cultural District, the Town of Chesterton announced on their Facebook page this past Friday.
According to the post from the Town of Chesterton, at its meeting Monday night, Sept. 22, the Chesterton Town Council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution designating and naming the new arts and cultural district, which “encompasses the creative and artistic businesses, fine dining, retail, and parks in the Town of Chesterton’s thriving historic Downtown.”The Chesterton Trackside Arts & Cultural District also overlays the Chesterton Historical Commercial District, recognized on the Federal Historic Register in 1999.
The Chesterton Trackside Arts & Cultural District extends from Grant Ave. to West Indiana Ave., running north and south; and from Lois Lane to Fifth Street, running east and west, incorporating both sides of the boundary streets.
Those pieces will be installed in spring 2026 along with a community-wide celebration.
The Request for Proposals will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
