One of the owners, Phil Sexton, is the fifth generation in his family to work in the bakery trade, beginning with his great great grandmother in the early 18th century. The bakery had become a favourite among residents near the Lymm and Penketh locations, offering a wide range of products. However, the shop in Penketh, located on Honiton Way, was set to close as Phil prepared for retirement. While Phil's younger wife, Sara, would continue to run the bakery in Lymm, the couple decided to sell the Penketh site to downsize the business. He assured customers that they would strive to find a buyer who would continue to serve Penketh, Great Sankey, and the surrounding area in the same manner they had for five decades.
