River Link Donkey and Animal Sanctuary, in Mancot, has launched a GoFundMe page in the hope of raising £19,000 towards the cost. A spokesperson for the sanctuary said: "River Link is not all about animals, many sectors within the community come to River Link as the animals are non-judgemental and have a therapeutic effect. Hospitals, veterans and social services are all regular visitors who benefit from the animals at River Link. We need to build two new animal shelters for our older donkeys, to protect them from the harsh weather conditions. They added: "We also need to order our winter hay at ‘today's’ price, as the costs are due to rise due to the abnormally hot and dry summer.
