The Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration (DMI) of the Labour Party has called on security agencies to investigate the public harassment of Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Abure was reportedly accosted on Friday by a woman identified as Precious Oruche, popularly known as “Mama P”, who hurled insults at him while recording the encounter. The directorate also criticised Yunusa Tanko, leader of the Obidient Movement, for his recent call for mass mobilisation in support of Mama P, warning that such rhetoric could inflame tensions. It cautioned that failure to address such incidents could set a dangerous precedent where political supporters openly attack perceived opponents in public spaces. “Nigeria’s capital and public spaces must remain safe, secure, and dignified.
