The state compiles statistics on reported disciplinary incidents in schools each year. They may not reflect the actual number, as not every school or charter reports their discipline statistics. The statistics are separated by disciplinary action, and granted distinctions if weapons were involved. Schools and charters reported more than 20,000 suspensions, somewhat evenly split between in-school and out-of-school. Compared to the previous year’s statistics, more disciplinary incidents were reported by Idaho schools.
