Hamilton - Ralph "Quimby" Osier, 79, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, at Addison Gilbert Hospital with loving family by his side. Born on April 20, 1946, to Ralph and Edith (Reed) Osier, Quimby grew up on Rocky Neck and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1964. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War—an experience he carried with pride throughout his life. After returning home, Quimby earned his captain's license and captained yachts up and down the East Coast. He later worked at Gloucester Engineering before building a successful career as a skilled carpenter. A true New Englander, Quimby was a devoted fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins. He also had a lifelong love of NASCAR and made several memorable trips to the Daytona 500. In 1998, he married his love Carly, and together they spent many winters aboard their boat in Florida. Quimby is survived by his sister Susan Osier and brother Christopher Osier, along with many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Carly, sister, Donna McKenzie-Ross, brother David Osier, nephews Peter Osier and Marc Sylvia, and niece Lindsay Osier. He shared a close and meaningful bond with his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tracy and Mike Sikorski, whose love and support were a constant comfort to him after the death of Carly. His family, especially his sister Susan, extends heartfelt thanks to them for their unwavering care of Quimby. A celebration of Quimby's life will be held at a later date at Pratty's in Gloucester, a place full of good memories and good friends.
