STATEMENT – Right to ProtestStop the War fully condemns the government’s proposed proscription of Palestine Action, and expresses its solidarity with Palestine Action’s members and supporters. This planned repressive act further extends the assault on the Palestinian solidarity movement and, by extension, the democratic rights of all. It follows the prosecution of Kneecap, the charges against key organisers of our peaceful protests, draconian action already taken against other protesters, and increasing police restrictions on demonstrations, imposed at the behest of those who support Israel’s genocide. The banning of Palestine Action is therefore a threat to us all, and a very dangerous precedent. We demand that the government think again, drop this proposal and end their military, diplomatic, intelligence and political support for Israel’s genocide against the heroic Palestinian people.
