Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing Director Morgan Strauss estimates around 2,000 participants will take to the roads and trails for the 34th University of Okoboji Oktoberfest Bike Ride and festival on Saturday. Bike ride registration and packet pickup begins at 8 a.m. The ride starts at 10 a.m. and the festival continues until 4 p.m.Cyclists ride counterclockwise around West Lake Okoboji. Numbered rubber ducks are released into West Lake Okoboji where the waves carry a winner across the finish line. Tickets are available in advance from any local Spirit Lake Kiwanian or visit the Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Club member.
