To ensure safe and respectful environments in elementary schools, the Yucatán State Secretariat of Education (SEGEY) reported that, so far this administration, 292 protocols for addressing situations of school violence remain active. As a result of the work of the Coordination for the Prevention of Violence in Elementary Education, in conjunction with the SEGEY Legal Department, students who are both perpetrators and recipients of violence have been referred to psychological services to provide support and alternatives that promote school coexistence. The work also reaches out to mothers and fathers, who receive guidance on parenting styles and strategies to prevent violence against their children. For teaching staff, training is provided on the Protocol for Action in Situations of Violence Detected or Committed Against Children and Adolescents, as well as on the Single Comprehensive Care Model for cases of violence in the school environment. Currently, these trainings are provided at all educational levels, reinforcing the Segey’s commitment to comprehensive education and the safety of the school community.
