At 55, Eulogio Antonio Pat Mis from Yucatán defied expectations by enrolling in a robotics program at Ontario Tech University in Canada, proving that learning has no age limit. Motivated by a lifelong fascination with technology and a desire to inspire younger generations, Pat Mis embarked on this academic journey in early 2025. Pat Mis also participated in Ontario Tech’s outreach initiatives, sharing his story with high school students and fellow immigrants, encouraging them to pursue STEM careers regardless of age or origin. “Robotics isn’t just for the young—it’s for the curious,” he told a campus audience during a spring seminar. As he continues his studies, Pat Mis hopes to bring robotics knowledge back to Yucatán, aiming to launch workshops that blend innovation with local needs.
