The governor emphasized that the project will provide opportunities for Campeche’s youth, who in many cases are forced to migrate. She also noted that Seybaplaya has the potential to become an international logistics hub, with the support of the Mayan Train and port infrastructure. For his part, Undersecretary Vidal Llerenas explained that the Hub is part of Plan Mexico, a new-generation industrial policy that seeks to create productive ecosystems with the participation of all three levels of government. State Economy Secretary Jorge Luis Lavalle Maury asserted that this hub marks a “before and after” for Campeche, by generating legal certainty, attracting investment, and consolidating key sectors such as energy, tourism, fishing, and the circular economy. According to the state government, the Seybaplaya I Hub aims to diversify the economy, reduce dependence on oil, and build a sustainable and competitive future for the state.
