PARIS — Soufflet Malt has launched a platform called MalTiply 2030 that aims to expand malt’s use in brewing, distilling, food, beverages and other areas.
Food and beverage areas include breakfast cereal, snacks, hot drinks, soft drinks and flavor experiences in spirits.
Soufflet Malt, based in France with over 40 malting plants across 20 countries, will invest over €25 million ($29.3 million) per year to increase productivity, which includes harnessing artificial intelligence and digital technologies to optimize malting process parameters and to embed standard operating procedures.
“Our new MalTiply 2030 strategy is ambitious, focused and grounded in the needs of our customers,” said Jorge Solis, chief executive officer.
The initiatives include reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and reducing water intensity by 30%.
