CITY of Cape Town safety and security boss JP Smith and Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) members busted an illegal smokkie during safety patrols. Smith joined NHW volunteers in the communities of Kewtown and Bishop Lavis on Friday during a safety patrol along with their neighbourhood watch groups. “If there is trouble in Kewtown or Bridgetown, they all run through Statice Heights which always gets a bad name. Smith told the Daily Voice that there are more than 50 000 neighbourhood watch members within the Kaap who have undergone training. In Bishop Lavis, Smith was joined by Western Cape MEC for Police Oversight and Community Safety Anroux Marais and DA DA Constituency Head of Tygerberg 2, Alexandra Abrahams.
