Bone recognized for service to DAR Published 9:00 am Tuesday, September 23, 20251 of 4Valley native Neva (Andrews) Leak Bone was honored posthumously by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) on Saturday with a special tribute recognizing her service to the King’s Gap Chapter based in Pine Mountain, Georgia. DAR dignitaries from both Alabama and Georgia were in attendance to commemorate the placement of the DAR insignia on Bone’s headstone at Fairview Cemetery in Valley. The insignia ceremony is done by the service organization to honor its daughters and their impact when they pass away. “A tangible tribute to Neva’s DAR service is the grave marker approved by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Bone passed away on March 25, 2025, in Phenix City at the age of 78.
