Specialty chemicals company Lanxess is expanding its portfolio with a more sustainable variant of its Bayferrox brand of yellow iron oxide pigments. The company says that the use of more eco-efficient raw materials means that the pigments have a significantly lower carbon footprint. Lanxess says it uses raw materials obtained from renewable energies in production. According to the company, the product carbon footprint (PCF) of the new pigments is around 35% lower than that of conventional product types. The micronised yellow pigments Bayferrox 3910, 3910 LV and 3920 are suitable for formulations in pigment pastes and highly pigmented facade paints.
